How to grow your business when you can't possibly put more time into it

What a question…..and, a question I’m often asked.

It can also be a deeply held belief that some of the business owners I begin working with have: that their business can’t possibly grow because they are already maxed out….or close to it.

This is where the intervention begins :)

Yes, growing your business is hard work and you will have to put the work in. I want to lay that out right now.

However, it’s where you put your energy that counts as you grow and expand into a future vision of your business that delivers results…..and maintains your sanity and personal relationships too.

It’s about laying the foundation for growth.

A house cannot be build on a faulty foundation. It doesn’t sound fun but it’s soooo important and you’ll find that when you do have a solid foundation….after you’ve put in the work to create one…it IS fun. It’s exciting to see what you, your team and business are capable of at that point.

So what does a foundation for growth look like?

It looks like:

Consistent leads, consistent clients, your team knowing what to do and how to trouble-shoot issues that arise, you seeing a clearer path to your high impact activities, you having clarity and confidence in your decision-making. You, having more fun…and, experiencing the rewards and results of your successful business. Building a strong financial future for you and your family.

So, when you are already stretched in the time you spend in and on your business, looking at your processes around the fundamental pieces of your business is where you start.

  • How easily can a task be assigned to an employee?

  • How well do they trouble-shoot when day-to-day problems arise?

  • How consistent is your service/product delivery, or do you feel you’re re-creating the wheel each time?

  • Is there a defined process around how you intake new clients? Or, even attracting those clients in the first place?

Believe it or not, having solid steps in place in these areas can mean the difference between your business surviving the next 10 years or closing down before that. (Statistics Canada: Survival rate of businesses past 10 years can be as low as 42%).

If you want to feel confident and not overwhelmed, grow, but not sacrifice more time, enjoy your business and not want to quit, then reach out and let’s chat.

NOW is YOUR time.
